Having a sailboat really can add stress to ones life in the summer that non boat owners just don’t appreciate. Non boat owners approach a weekend starting to plan out a hike somewhere, or picking a cafe to go for a relaxed breakfast, while sailboat owners are looking at the weather assessing the sailing conditions, tides, and having to select an anchorage that offers the hiking, and food festival and music festival that fancies them.
This added weekend stress is on top of all the weekday stress of sailboat owners sitting at work trying to plan out how they can get out of the office and be out boating! When I first bought a boat I didn’t realize I was adding all this stress to my life. …I think we’ll be ok though, this really isn’t something that a little cheese and wine in the cockpit can’t cure.
So, with the weekend approaching it appears that it’s the Pender Harbour Blues festival! The musician line up looks great, including the Brickhouse, Diane Lines and Steve Kozak. Venues are throughout Pender Harbour, with a great opportunity to get a taste of the Sunshine coast while enjoying some great music. If you’re able to make the trip over to Pender Harbour from your home port, what a wonderful way to enjoy the weekend!
