With kids back in school, people back from their summer vacations, I’ve heard some people think of September as a fresh starts new beginnings. Everyone’s accomplished a portion, if not all of their summer boating bucket list, but why does it have to stop now? Where’s boating bucket list between now and next summer? Yes, depending on what type of boat and amenities you have on it boating can look different beyond August, fall boating can be fantastic!
During the non summer months, boat launches aren’t so busy if you store your boat on a trailer, and both anchorages and marina’s aren’t as busy, making it a great time to keep boating. Whether it’s a day adventure to explore Portland Island, or a weekend at Port Browning Marina on Pender Island, boating is still possible!
In the cooler season’s I love to look at the calendar and plan fall boating destination cruises. In September there’s the Salt Spring Island Fall Fair, the Apple Festival, then moving into October it’s fun to plan a Thanksgiving cruise.
Just because summer is over doesn’t mean your boating needs to stop, what’s on your fall boating bucket list?
